Blue screen 0x8E ATI2DVAG.DLL errors when resuming from sleep
You may encounter an issue where in system shows a Blue screen 0x8E when trying to wake up from sleep mode while Outlook 2007 is open. The Blue screen 0x8E points to ATI2DVAG.DLL. This may be caused by Windows Search 4.0 being installed into Outlook 2007 on an XP system running Service Pack 3. There are a few ways to resolve this issue:
Step 1: You can uninstall Windows Search from Add or Remove Programs. You will receive a warning when uninstalling it that some programs may not function due to shared files. This is a standard warning.
Step 2: The Add In can be disabled by clicking the Tools menu in Outlook, then Trust Center, Add-ins, and click the Go button at the bottom of the right window.
Step 3: Scroll down and Uncheck Windows Search Email Indexer, and restart Outlook.
